Teamster stewards are the backbone of the union!
Stewards monitor and enforce the collective bargaining agreement that has been negotiated between the union and management at their workplace. They advocate for their Teamster co-workers by investigating workplace issues and bringing concerns and formal grievances to management’s attention. Teamster stewards are leaders who wear many hats and play a critical role in building the strength of our members.

If a new employee starts with the company, stewards should approach them with information on the benefits of the union as well as an authorization form/application for union membership. If stewards do not have authorization forms in their possession they should immediately contact Local 786 or their Business Agent to receive them.
Local 786 appreciates and commends its stewards on the front line.
